[Riverview Residential Interior Renovation Project Introduction]

Before working with Mr and Mrs Ruan, this house had undergone two previous expansions and renovations. The previous homeowner's cost-saving reinforcement method compromised the ceiling height, resulting in a feeling of confinement. WWAA design team aimed to unleash the potential of this suppressed residence by reducing the floor area and integrating key spaces through open-plan layouts and double-height voids.

We connected the living room, study, kitchen, and dining room through a 5.8-meter-long kitchen island and interior window openings. The double-height living room achieved connectivity between the ground floor and the upper bedroom level while introducing ample natural light.

In the kitchen and pantry area, we incorporated long horizontal windows to bring in the green landscape and strengthen the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.

​

In this primary space, the design team aimed to maintain a balance between independence and connection for the family of four. Each person can engage in their respective activities while maintaining psychological connection and interaction through visibility.

This project has been approved by the CDC, and we extend our special thanks to Mr and Mrs. Ruan for their trust. We also appreciate the contributions of structural engineer Garry and the efficient approval process by Certifier Alex. With their support, the WWAA team can unleash their full potential and create a happy and warm home for our clients.

 

The construction began in June 2023 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2023. Let's anticipate its magnificent transformation!
